Psalm 131 Growing In Grace

Post by Kefa »

Psalm 131

LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever. (Psalm 131, KJV)

Psalm 131
Growing in Grace

131 is a psalm of humility.
Forgiveness of our sins, leads
To humbleness. It means being
Free from pride and arrogance.

David was not a person to stand
On his own honor, rather he began
Trusting God and pursuing
A spiritual journey in grace.

David was delivered from pride,
Arrogance, and worldly ambitions
Through the power of God,
In order to grow in Grace.

David is like a weaned child. He has
Come through the weaning process,
And came to love God. Do you love
God, himself? Do you trust him?

Many Christians are in infant stage
Living on their mother’s milk.
You will never have peace of mind
And satisfaction until you grow-up.

Psalm 100: 4

"Beware of the false prophets! They come to you wearing sheep's clothing, but underneath they are hungry wolves! You will recognize them by their fruit. Can people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?
Matthew 7: 15-16 Complete Jewish Bible

Dear friends, don't trust every spirit. On the contrary, test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.1 John 4:1 Complete Jewish Bible
