The Daily Bible Verse 4th December 2o1i

Post by Pete » Wed Dec 04, 2019 11:53 pm

For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”
– 2 Chronicles 16:9 (NIV)

Today's commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org Author of Making Sense of the Bible

This prophetic utterance was a rebuke to King Asa, who was bargaining with his enemy to ensure peace in Judah and in so doing, displayed a lack of trust in God. It is easy to display commitment to God in a worship experience, but how do we respond when opportunities come that attempt to woo our hearts away from God’s commands? God is looking for those who will choose to do things God’s ways over what seems convenient or even safe.

Psalm 100: 4

"Beware of the false prophets! They come to you wearing sheep's clothing, but underneath they are hungry wolves! You will recognize them by their fruit. Can people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?
Matthew 7: 15-16 Complete Jewish Bible

Dear friends, don't trust every spirit. On the contrary, test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1 John 4:1 Complete Jewish Bible
